On behalf of the Hungarian Canoe Federation, it is a great pleasure and honour for us to welcome you once again to Hungary, in Szeged, for the
2026 ICF CANOE SPRINT WORLD CUP, taking place 8–10 May 2026.
I believe I can say that the Maty-ér Regatta Course is one of the strongholds of international canoeing. Year after year, it hosts prestigious
international competitions, backed by more than 40 years of experience and a uniquely advanced infrastructure.
What’s more, the city of Szeged—known in Hungary as the “City of Sunshine —is located just a few kilometres from the venue.
The transformation of the Olympic qualification system marks the beginning of a new era for our sport. As you know, the importance of World Cups
has increased significantly, as the results achieved here now also contribute to the quest for quota places for the LA28 Olympic Games.
